The way you speak to yourself matters, and it can have a huge impact on your finances. In healing your relationship with money, your inner dialogue plays a big role. Self-talk matters. The brain responds to repetition, but it does not distinguish between helpful and not helpful. Here is a link to an interesting article about the brain and repetition.
I encourage you to pause and ask yourself: Are you kind to you? Would you speak to someone you love the way to speak to yourself?
For so many of us, the answer is often no. We need to retrain our brains.
How can you be softer with yourself? Where can you invite in compassion? Take a moment to first feel it in your body. Relax your shoulders down away from your ears. Allow the muscles in your face to soften, the space between your eyebrows. Let your teeth unclench. Take a deep breath in, allowing your lower belly to fill up with air, and then let it out slowly, making the sound haaaaaa.
Inhale self-love
Exhale, ease.
The body and the mind are deeply connected. When you offer yourself physical release, you may find you can release elsewhere in your life.
Perhaps you can stay more in the present moment, rather than focusing on the past, and choices you may beat yourself up about. Could it be fair to say you were doing the best you could with the information you had at time?
Where are you holding onto a narrative that doesn’t serve you? I invite you to soften and let it go.
Wishing you self-love and ease.
